Besides getting aesthetically beautiful, floor tiles can be very durable and well worth the investment even they come with relatively high price tags. The durability of tile flooring is attributed to the hardness of the finished surface.
The flooring is made by applying a finish to a smooth ceramic tile. This finish gives them an attractive glossy or matte appearance depending on the color selected, and it also gives them the feeling of luxury.
Dull and grimy tile floors are not the same as dull and grimy tile counters. Floor tiles will eventually become dull when they have been exposed to dust, dirt, and grime.
There are many ways to make tile floors clean and shiny again if you know what you’re doing.
The good thing is that you can clean your floor without any chemicals at all by just using natural products.
Use Detergent
The first step to make your tile floors shine is to clean all the excess grime by mopping the floor with warm water and a detergent.
This will remove all dust and dirt particles stuck on the floor, making it easier for you to scrub them off when you are using the detergent solution.
Soak a clean mop into the bucket and wring it slightly to remove excess water. Then, work on a section of the floor.
Use quick scrubbing motion with the mop to polish tile flooring. Make sure that you dry any excess water after you are done shining your ceramic tiles to avoid the formation of mold. Repeat the process until all tiles are shined.
Use Baking Soda
Baking soda is one of the best cleaning products. It does not only do away with dirt and grease but it also whitens your tile floors in the process. Baking soda is a natural cleaner that works well on any surface, especially your tile floors.
Grab a bucket and fill it with warm water. After that, add ¼ cup of baking soda to the water. Slowly start stirring it and make sure that it does not clump up on you.
Once you have many small bubbles on your mixture, you can use the solution to scrub away the floor stains.
Use Ammonia
Ammonia is one of the best cleaning products for restoring the shine on ceramic tile floors. Simply mix a few drops of ammonia in a bucket of warm water and apply it on your floors with a mop and watch the grime disappear.
Ammonia does not leave any residue thus being a safe cleaner for tiled floors. It can remove stubborn particles, soap scum, bacteria and dirt from the surface of the floor tiles.
Use Vinegar
Vinegar is one of the most popular cleaning solutions that many homeowners use for their houses. It can be used for multiple purposes, but it is particularly great at cleaning the tile floor.
